Let’s begin this journey with 6 nights and 7 days duration and below day-wise itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Leh and Local Sightseeing
– Arrive in Leh, the capital city of Ladakh (11,500 ft)
– Acclimatize to the high altitude
– Visit Leh Palace, Namgyal Tsemo Monastery and Shanti Stupa
– Explore Leh Market for local handicrafts and souvenirs
Day 02: Leh – Sham Valley – Leh (Round trip)
– Drive to Sham Valley (approx. 50 km, 1.5 hours)
– Visit Alchi Monastery, Basgo Palace, and Likir Monastery
– Enjoy scenic views of the Indus River and surrounding landscape
– Return to Leh in the evening
Day 03: Leh – Khardungla Pass – Nubra Valley – Hunder – Sand Dunes
– Drive to Khardungla Pass (18,380 ft), one of the world’s highest motorable roads
– Continue to Nubra Valley (approx. 125 km, 5 hours)
– Visit Diskit Monastery and explore Hunder Sand Dunes
– Enjoy a camel ride (optional) on the double-humped Bactrian camels
Day 04: Dikshit Monastery Visit and Return to Leh
– Visit Dikshit Monastery (if not covered on Day 3)
– Drive back to Leh via Khardungla Pass (approx. 125 km, 5 hours)
– Evening at leisure in Leh and overnight stay.
Day 05: Leh – Pangong Lake
– Drive to Pangong Lake (approx. 140 km, 4.5 hours) on the way get experience of highest Changla Pass.
– Upon arrival, enjoy breathtaking views of the salted water lake and surrounding mountains. Pangong Lake is a popular site among the Indian Bollywood movies director to shoot Indian movies here. 3 Idiot is one of them.
– Overnight at Pangong Lake camp.
Day 06: Pangong Lake – Leh and Leh Sightseeing + Shopping
– Drive back to Leh (approx. 140 km, 4.5 hours)
– Visit Thiksey Monastery and Hemis Monastery (if not covered earlier)
– Explore Leh Market for shopping and local cuisine.
Day 07: Departure from Leh Airport
– Bid farewell to Ladakh and depart from Leh Airport.
